Before the renovations
I don't see a problem, but Ann wants to repaint for some reason...

Look at this wallpaper for more than a few seconds & it starts to move. And this was in the kitchen, no less -- what a diet aid!

It's so country! They have so many far flung themes going on this apartment - Poppy Welcoming Chambers, Christmas Bath, Laura Ashley Bedroom (maybe it was calming after the alarming poppy), Beach House, and now, in the close up I can see apples - take me home, country roads!

I like it even if it reminds me of the children stories of the 1920s

The Brothers Grimm, more like. I'll bet those apples were poisoned.

Did someone really live there ??????

Note the delightful harmony among the rooms. Oh the horror.

You know how much Judith adores the December holiday time (not!), I'm sure she'll volunteer to paint this entire thing over.

very much in harmony with the moroccan flag

this would even give Bella a headache

This is very muted; the wallpaper in that bedroom was a sort of Victorian-Hurl-Lavender, always at its best next to forest green.

Oops, sorry, that's the kitchen again. You'll get to the bedroom soon enough. Enjoy these last moments until then.

no words .....!!!!!!

The wallpaper could stand changing, too

Stake through heart? Silver bullet?

I DO like it

I'm telling you, it moved. Yes, we get high on life. Well, on wallpaper. And it's not a good thing.

Nearly forgot: the trim & closet door in this one were nicely tricked out in *magenta* semigloss. Or maybe it was plum. I had to put my sunglasses on, which made it hard to tell.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the vinyl tiles are starting to loosen
From: Ann @ 151.173.12.253 (Mon 24 Jul 2006 11:34:16 PM EDT)
Which will make ripping them up with my bare hands so much easier.

From: jaime @ 71.102.49.137 (Tue 25 Jul 2006 12:12:32 PM EDT)
the vinyl tiles have to go

Some of the details in the building lobby.

Now I do like this -- it's got character. Bad taste *is* timeless. The building originally had a doorman, though not now; imagine spending your workday here. Wish my office had bas-reliefs of ships, & some fake stained glass too.

From: Kat @ 69.3.233.151 (Tue 25 Jul 2006 12:39:26 AM EDT)
This is remniscent, in photos anyway of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs... Are you sure this is not their home?

And you thought I was exaggerating about the ships.

Can we live in the lobby instead? Much more fun.

I think your *decorator* should have at those columns and window frames. They are gorgeous and what an opportunity for a fabulous update, that and some period furniture, and I'm moving in!

Look at the photos on the "from the realtor's website" subgallery for the full party-space effect. Every time I see it, I remember my favorite graffito from college: "In Xanadu did Kubla Khan/Hold big bar mitzvahs on the lawn."
